Game Notes :Dragon Quest Builders 2

This was my first time playing a Minecraft-style game, but I ended up finishing it. Since I played little by little before going to bed, I might've been playing it for about two months.
It was incredibly fun.
What I especially loved was how, whenever I built a new structure or room, the villagers would gather around all excited, clapping and praising me like, 'Amazing!' and 'That's awesome!' It just feels soooo good.
Even when I only made something like a smelly-looking toilet with a pot and a towel, they'd shower me with praise like a flood. When I'm praised like that, it makes me smile and want to keep building all kinds of rooms! They're really good at flattering me!
Sakurai from Nintendo mentioned in his game design videos that having a 'praise' system is a great way to create that satisfying 'feels good' experience in games, and this really made me realize how true that is. It's a game that made me want to consciously incorporate that idea into my own game.
